Early Life

Carol Lay is an American professional cartoonist, author, and illustrator. She was born in Whittier, CA in 1952; and lived most of her childhood in Orange County in the 1950s (Lay , 2014).

As a child, Carol used to feed her imagination with plenty of books and story television like The Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock Presents and Science Fiction Theater (Lay , 2014).

As a teenager she faced many challenges with her weight, at the age of nineteen she reached 206 pounds and after that, her journey and struggles to lose weight started (Lay , 2014).

In her famous memoir “The big skinny” Carol Lay shares her life story, and explains how she overcame her battle with weight loss (Lay , 2014).
